I realized that being independent or D.I.Y. doesn't mean doing it ALL yourself. I was trying to do everything myself. I needed a copilot. Flying alone, I could go fast, but flying with a copilot, I could go much further and help my clients with a broader array of services. Late last year, I contacted my brother Jay and suggested we launch an artist services agency called Propeller Sound Services. By January, we had landed our first two clients. Every day, we help those artist clients with everything from project management to tour marketing, release marketing, website updates, email marketing, etc. As many of you know, we are the sons of a teacher, and both of us continue to teach year-round for Berklee Online. I just completed my 13th year, and Jay his 12th. I suggested we rebrand my dormant newsletters and bring them under the Propeller umbrella.
